How do you know you are making an impact with others? Do you have what it takes to make a difference with someone else? Do you have a goal to increase the value you provide to others?
If so, it is a simple of living your truth and once you live your truth, people will respond. Also to have the courage to share your thoughts or something of yourself when you have the intuition that you should do so.
A story that has reinforced this lesson to me happened just after this Christmas. After a wonderful time with family, friends and food it was now time to return to my physical workout routine. As with most holidays for me, that physical routine was put on hold and I ate too much. I went to the gym and I was happy with the results of my run. At first I wanted to share this accomplishment on my Facebook but initially I refrained, as I was fearful of what others might think. I quickly realized this was a mistake, so I posted a status of what I had done along with the time and distance. Almost immediately I had a friend comment back and said thank you for the post as it caused him to get off the couch and goto the gym.
What a small difference my post made that day in a positive way to someone else. If I allowed my fear to control my actions both of us wouldn't have been able to experience this small positive moment. In short, whether it be positive or negative you are making an impact with everything you do. Most of the time feedback will not come back to you so quickly as in this case. Yet I want to encourage you to base your decision and outcomes on what is best for your health and well being. I don't mean this in a selfish way to negativity impact others but in a way you know yourself and your foundation of kindness. Even without feedback from others keep doing what you feel is right to increase your value to yourself and others.
Like any other building process in life, this start and being consistent you will achieve your goal of increasing value to others. Once this happens you will experience the gift of effective leadership. Leadership happens in all forms and applies to everyone that has a goal to make that positive difference in your community. When thoughts of fear or what difference will this make to others enter your mind then quickly dismiss them as soon as they appear, if you follow these thoughts you will never make a difference.
Through your positive actions you don't have to make a difference with someone else but you will. Growing yourself will grow others that you interact with. Now isn't moments like these that make life special and so valuable. Conquer your fear of your self-imposed doubt and start to feel you success when you do.
