My thoughts have been on the concept of leveling up. As I thought about that idea or way of doing things - that principle of continuous improvement or leveling up is around us in everything. Examples of this are in nature, our products we use on a daily basis to , in some cases, our personal growth.
Sometimes in my past I would have a sense of not being in a place of fulfillment and feeling a sense of not having a sense of direction. Once I started to realize that pattern in my life, I would search out tangible ways to evolve and move to a place of gratefulness and accomplishment. I soon realized that the only way that is possible to make change in my life is by my actions.
As I started with the realization this is truly up to me and I started to make adjustments to my life. I started to receive a general overall sense of satisfaction as I "leveled up?. I thought about video games and how over the last few years the incredible growth that industry has experienced. Perhaps one of the reasons of that, other than the fact of basic sensory entertainment value, is the sense of accomplishment folks receive as they complete levels of the game they are playing.
Usually at the beginning the start of the games is very simple and also includes a set of simple instructions of how to play the game. Once the instruction level is complete - depending on how much you play, a person can rapidly move up levels and usually some type of reward is also given to the player as they level up. That pattern of video games is exactly what we need to replicate in our life to "level up" and to be provided with that sense of life's accomplishments, which leads to rewards in our life.
So if you find yourself not leveling up - look inside deeply and discovering what it is in you that is causing you to not level up. Unlike a video fame, real life does not provide you with a set of detailed instruction of how to play the game. So the difficult part for you is to discover these instructions for you.
What I found helpful in my journey to finding my instructions is to keep asking why to myself and allowing myself the patience to learn what life is teaching me. Also to have the mind set, that as I learn and grow, I will fail once and a while - that is ok and in fact that is totally normal and should be expected. Like in a video game - it is reasonable to expect the first time you sit down and play it - are you able to complete the entire game without one mistake?
Most of us would say that mistakes will be made as we learn this video game. Yet in life some of us may expect perfection in each step we take in life. Sometimes in life, if we do make a mistake we might stop living and exploring. As we slowly let fear come into our life we may slowly push out the positive things in our life. As a human we do not have an unlimited amount of capacity of energy and our thoughts, choices will directly effect our ability to level up.
This will happen in our life's journey and refer back to the lessons you have learned and change your choices. Like the video game - if your unsuccessful on a level, you have to change what you are doing. It is not possible for you to change the programming of that game.
The great thing about this life is that life always provides you the chances to change. The only two limiting factors to your chance is time and you. As you read and reflect on these words, ask one of three questions. Am I in alignment to what I need in my life and am I leveling up or am I stuck on a level and can not successfully level up?
