Introduction

 Introduction

This is my sixth book. My second spiritually rooted one. And it’s a continuation of Christ and the Thoughts of the Day. If you’ve followed my journey thus far—thank you. If you’re joining for the first time—welcome. Either way, you belong here.

Welcome to your place here with these words. You’ve made it. You’ve taken the time. And I don’t take that lightly. It means something deep to me that we are starting another journey together. A journey of growth. A journey of truth. A journey of deeper closeness to the Spirit.

This isn’t a textbook or a manual. It’s not perfect or polished. It’s real. Honest. It comes from a place in me that’s still very much learning, often stumbling, and yet, faithfully returning to the Source. The Spirit. The breath of God that gives me the courage to write and share.

You’ll find thoughts here. Some bold. Some raw. Some gentle. Some challenging. But all of them come from a longing—a desperate longing—to walk closer with Christ and invite others to do the same.

So thank you, again. For showing up. For being open. For walking this with me. Let’s go.

Chapter One: The Table is Set

I always find it funny how the table gets set long before the guests arrive.

Before the laughter, the awkward small talk, the spilled drinks, and the deep connection — the table is set. The chairs are placed just so. The napkins folded. The food still warming. There’s a quietness in that moment, almost holy. The preparation, the intention. It’s not rushed. It’s not performative. It’s love in action.

That’s what I want this book to be for you. A place that was quietly and intentionally prepared. Not for a performance, but for a meeting. A meal of the soul. Bread you didn’t expect. Water you didn’t know you needed.

Jesus said in Revelation 3:20, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.”

We often focus on the knocking part—on the invitation—but rarely do we pause on the meal. The togetherness. The intimacy.

This is about that. The sitting together with the One who set the table before you even knew you were hungry.

Maybe you came to this place of reading with a full heart. Or maybe with a broken one. Maybe you’ve lost your way, or maybe you’ve never left the path. It doesn’t matter.

The table is set.

The Spirit is near.
