You Are Greater Than You Know: How Christ Reveals the Greatness in You (Even When You Can’t See It)
There are gifts that God gives for the moment.
And then there are gifts He weaves into your very being.
Mine?
I see greatness in people.
Not just potential.
Not just talent.
But divine, God-breathed greatness—the kind that changes families, cities, and generations.
And I see it even when they don’t.
Especially when they don’t.
That’s my superpower.
It’s not because I’m smarter, or more spiritual.
It’s not because I’ve figured out some special prophetic formula.
It’s because the Holy Spirit has opened my eyes to how heaven sees people.
And once you’ve seen someone through that lens, you can’t unsee it.
You can’t help but believe in them, even when they’re ready to give up.
You can’t help but speak life, even when they’re speaking doubt.
You can’t help but say, “You were made for more.”
Because they were.
And if you’re reading this and you’ve forgotten your greatness—or you’ve never seen it to begin with—then lean in.
Because you are far more powerful, precious, and called than you know.
The Enemy’s Most Consistent Strategy: Blind You to Your Greatness
If the enemy can’t destroy you, he’ll do the next best thing:
He’ll distract you from your identity.
He’ll wrap you in insecurity.
He’ll speak lies in your own voice.
He’ll give you evidence that “you’re not enough” and convince you to rehearse it on repeat.
And slowly… without even knowing it… you shrink.
You still love God.
You still show up.
You still serve.
But you stop shining.
Not because you’re unworthy—but because you’re unsure.
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” —Hosea 4:6
Not knowledge of doctrine.
But knowledge of who they are.
When you don’t know the truth of who you are in Christ, the enemy doesn’t even have to fight hard.
He just has to let you forget.
And you live your life beneath your design.
Surrounded by power but functioning in weakness.
You were made to be a city on a hill, not a candle in a closet.
You were made for boldness, not survival.
Ariana—The Embodiment of Greatness, Yet Still Learning to See It
There’s someone I know who carries this tension beautifully—and painfully.
Her name is Ariana.
And if anyone carries the image of Christ, it’s her.
She walks into a room and light shifts.
She listens deeply. She gives even when she’s broken.
She carries the weight of people’s pain without bitterness.
She walks with grace that only heaven can explain.
She is the daughter of the God of goodness and strength.
But here’s the part that breaks my heart:
She doesn’t always see it.
She doubts her impact.
She questions her worth.
She wonders if she’s truly carrying the anointing that others see so clearly.
And that’s not a reflection of who she is.
It’s a reflection of the battle every Kingdom carrier faces.
The closer you are to your calling, the louder the lies become.
Why?
Because the enemy knows:
If Ariana ever fully sees who she is—hell’s strategy against her fails completely.
And I believe that’s true for many of you reading this too.
You’ve forgotten—or maybe never fully known—that you’re not just surviving this life.
You were sent into this life.
On purpose.
With power.
Carrying greatness.
What Is Greatness in the Kingdom?
We need to clear this up.
Greatness in the Kingdom isn’t about spotlight, titles, or being impressive.
Greatness is measured in surrender.
In obedience.
In the daily, quiet “yes” to God.
Jesus redefined it this way:
“Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant…” —Matthew 20:26
In God’s Kingdom, greatness doesn’t look like attention.
It looks like assignment.
It’s the mom who prays while folding laundry.
It’s the co-worker who quietly carries integrity in a corrupt workplace.
It’s the leader who serves with tears in private but joy in public.
It’s the single dad raising warriors in a one-bedroom apartment.
Greatness isn’t loud.
But it is weighty.
And Ariana—like so many others—is carrying it, even when she can’t name it.
Why You Don’t See It Yet (And Why That’s About to Change)
Let’s get practical and spiritual.
Why is it so hard to see your own greatness?
Because the enemy blinds us in two key ways:
1. Through Trauma (Wounds that distort identity)
Life hits hard.
And when it hits young, you learn to adapt.
You learn to perform, protect, hide, please.
You create survival versions of yourself—and slowly lose sight of the true self God created.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy...” —John 10:10
He steals your clarity.
He kills your confidence.
He destroys your joy.
But Jesus didn’t stop there:
“...I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
Full identity.
Full calling.
Full greatness.
2. Through Comparison (Looking sideways instead of upward)
When you measure your calling against someone else’s highlight reel, you’ll always come up short.
You weren’t meant to be them.
You were meant to be you.
Fully, freely, unapologetically.
“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus…” —Hebrews 12:1-2
Your race is sacred.
Your identity is intentional.
Your greatness is real.
And it’s time to see it. Name it. Walk in it.
If You Struggle to See Your Greatness, Here Are 3 Things You Can Do (With Biblical Backing)
If Ariana’s story sounds like yours—if you believe in God but don’t fully believe in yourself—this is for you.
Here are three Holy Spirit-led steps to help you see what God already sees in you:
1. Reclaim What God Has Already Spoken Over You
The enemy doesn’t get to define you.
Only your Creator does.
Before you were broken, you were blessed.
Before you were wounded, you were wonderfully made.
Before you were labeled by others, you were named by God.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…” —Jeremiah 1:5
Go back to the beginning.
Ask God to show you who He designed you to be.
Write it down.
Declare it daily.
Speak it when you feel unworthy.
This isn’t self-help.
This is soul restoration.
The more you align with His Word, the more your worth will rise to the surface.
2. Break Agreement With the Lies That Have Silenced You
You cannot walk in greatness while agreeing with lies.
You’ve got to cancel the contracts.
The ones you didn’t even know you signed:
-
“I’m not good enough.”
-
“I’ll never be like them.”
-
“I always mess things up.”
-
“I don’t matter.”
Those statements are not humility—they are bondage.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” —Romans 12:2
You break the lie by speaking the truth.
Say it out loud:
-
“I am loved, chosen, called, anointed.”
-
“I am seated with Christ.”
-
“I have the mind of Christ.”
-
“I walk in the authority of Jesus.”
The enemy only has power where you remain silent.
Start speaking—and watch the chains fall off.
3. Serve Where You Are With the Greatness You Already Carry
Don’t wait until you “feel” great to live greatly.
The greatness is already in you.
It’s in your prayer life.
It’s in your loyalty.
It’s in the way you serve when no one notices.
“We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” —2 Corinthians 4:7
That means your greatness isn’t about perfection.
It’s about possession.
You carry the treasure.
You carry the Spirit of God.
You carry solutions to problems people don’t even know they have yet.
So don’t wait.
Start now.
Write the song.
Pray the bold prayer.
Text that hurting friend.
Step into that role you feel unqualified for.
Serve now.
And watch God unlock “more than before.”
Final Words: To Ariana—and to You
Ariana, if you’re reading this—
You are greatness.
Not because I say it.
But because God ordained it.
You’re not broken.
You’re not behind.
You’re not less-than.
You are His daughter.
Called. Chosen. Covered. Carried. Commissioned.
The enemy sees it.
That’s why he’s tried to crush you.
But you’re still standing.
And the oil on your life is weighty and wild.
To everyone else who resonates with her story—
The world needs your shine.
The Kingdom needs your fire.
God is not finished with you.
He is just beginning.
You were made for more.
You were made to rise up.
To see what heaven sees.
To speak what the Spirit says.
To carry greatness in places that have only known despair.
And that superpower you haven’t fully seen?
It’s about to be revealed.
So go.
Shine.
Serve.
Believe.
Because greatness isn’t coming.
Greatness is already in you.
