The Second Book The 38th Chapter - Choose Your Opportunity

Aug 23/17

Have you ever been to a place in your life where you have been given an opportunity and with this opportunity there is a cross roads in your life?  You know if you make that choice and with that opportunity it will open doors for you yet close others.  How do you know what choice to make?  How do you know you will be making the correct decision for you?

As I thought about these two questions I wanted to share a story of an experience.  As I am currently in the longest non-traditional non-job role of my life, I received a call to go to work for a company.  Although I am very grateful for this call this opportunity does not align up to my passion.  As the person talked to me more, a feeling of anxiety started to be created in me.  With this explanation of this experience I would suggest some of you would think and say to not follow this opportunity.

Yes I agree with you but for me when I am in the moment the path does not always seem clear.  I think the combination of me wanting to help others and I struggle with the concept of saying no.  With this struggle it causes me to make my path fuzzy on me seeing clearly what the next steps are for me.

I know this is a learning lesson for me and as I write I know my answer and what choices I have to make.  The importance to follow ones own advice and not just give it freely to others comes to mind.  The strength and power of your words and if you can follow your own words is key.  The story of the lone nut dancing by themselves comes to mind and it is always better to do that than to follow a group that is not where you belong.

I have lived too long in living a life of not choosing the correct opportunity for me.  Too many years have passed of me not listening to my internal voice.  It is better to have taken your risk of passion vs. taking the safe road that leads to your meritocracy.

In organizations that are amazing it is solely based on the fact the people in that organization are able to live their passions.  Goods and services that are offered for sale that are average will become extraordinary with the people working there in the environment that allows people to live their passion.

That same pattern happens in our major life choices and with safe choices you will live a life that is average as well.  The choice is yours on whether you want an extraordinary life of one that is average.  This is all driven by your choosing your opportunity that are presented to you.

If you have found it difficult to act on your passion of choice I encourage you to keep pushing forward.  By initial failure of your passion it will increase your reward of your success of passion.  Embrace your opportunity and go through the doors meant for you while not looking back at the ones that are closed.
